The Complexity of Anxiety..

I think a lot of people think about anxiety the wrong way. They put it in a box and expect everyone to kind of get anxious about the same things. And that is completely the wrong way to think about it. Every person is uniquely different. Therefore why would they all get anxious about the same things? And even if you do get anxious about the same thing as someone else, it may be because of a different aspect of that 'thing' and the anxiety may manifest itself to a different degree and in a different way as the other person.

To make it simpler, take two people; Person A and Person B

Person A - May be anxious about an exam but specifically the topic of biodiversity

Person B - May be anxious about the same exam but specifically whether or not they will finish the exam on time

further;

Person A - may have dealt with their anxiety before and have a strategy in place to deal with it now

Person B - May not even know that what they are feeling is anxiety

Both people have anxiety surrounding the same 'thing' but their situations are totally different. NO ONE can be put in the same box. Why the fuck is there even a box to begin with?
